Cables & Looms

Original Equipment offer a flexible service aimed at customers who require ‘one-off’ or low to medium volume production of cable looms and harnesses for a wide variety of machines and vehicles.  Our services and working practices are particularly effective when products are under development or when at the ‘production prototype’ stage.

We are happy to work from a sketch, a physical sample, full engineering drawings or by working with the actual machine or vehicle to which the loom will be installed.  We can often assist in the design of the wiring looms by giving guidance on the selection and procurement of connectors and other devices which may be fitted to the harness.

If required, once the volume of production reaches a level when it is economical to subcontract to large volume, or overseas manufacturers or assemblers, we will provide detailed drawings showing part numbers and giving full build instructions. 

Future development of the machinery or vehicles will be carefully considered and whenever possible, we will look to make future harness versions backwardly compatible with earlier versions.  This is to ensure that field repairs and servicing are kept as simple and straight forward as possible.
